Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire at the 2009
Sundance Film Festival. Winner of both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award
in the U.S. Dramatic Competition, Push features Mo'Nique, Gabourey Sidibe,
Mariah Carey, Paula Patton and Lenny Kravitz and was directed by Lee Daniels.
This coverage features clips from the movie, an interview with Gabourey Sidibe
& Mo'Nique, as well as coverage of the
Push Press
Conference, featuring Mariah Carey, Sapphire and Lee Daniels.
During the press conference, Mariah said: “Lee was encouraging us to go there.
He was encouraging us to continue to go as deep as we could and to kind of just
throw everything aside and really have an experience... This should be required
and the people should have to see this because people that don't know that this
exists within the world, they need to be educated about it. And I think kids
growing up, seeing something like this, this will change. This will help change
and help take us to where we need to go.â€
