Mariah Set For Apollo Fete

< > Mariah is set to take part in the star-studded Gala Concert and Awards Ceremony to help celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Harlem's historic Apollo Theater on Monday, June 8. Hosted by comedian, actor, radio personality, and former Showtime at the Apollo host Steve Harvey, the Gala will feature the induction of two new honorees into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame: music impresario Quincy Jones, and soulful superstar Patti LaBelle, who, revered for her powerhouse vocals and amazing versatility, has enjoyed one of the longest-lived careers in contemporary music. Ms. LaBelle's award will be presented by multiple Grammy-award winning singer, songwriter, producer, and actress Mariah Carey.

This will be a historic return for Mariah to the Apollo Theater stage; as a young up and coming talent, Mariah took the stage in 1990 and wowed the audience with songs from her debut album. The performances of "Vision of Love" and "Love Takes Time" appeared on Mariah’s home-video/DVD release, The First Vision.
