'Precious' tops NAACP Awards

< > It was a 'Precious' night at the NAACP Image Awards on Friday, where the film scored six trophies out of eight in the motion picture category.

"Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" scooped up prizes for best motion picture and best independent feature. Gabourey Sidibe topped Sandra Bullock for best actress, and in the supporting actress category Mo'Nique trumped co-stars Mariah Carey and Paula Patton for the kudo. Precious writer, Geoffrey Fletcher, and director, Lee Daniels, took their turn at the podium as well for their work on the film.
